Kevin is a lifetime resident of Kansas. He and his wife, Stephanie, live outside of Cheney and are the proud parents of five children. They're active in their parish and across the community — volunteering for civic activities and helping seniors, veterans, and neighbors in need.
Kevin started out as a petroleum engineer, then spent fifteen years as a Vice President at Coastal before going on to own and operate his own group of stores. For the past decade, Kevin and Stephanie have rebuilt the marina at Cheney Lake — adding a new fuel dock and installing 86 boat slips — building a place families across the district love to call home.
He didn't set out to be a politician. He's running to be a representative for everyone in District 101, to keep traditional, conservative values strong, and to make sure the voters' voices are heard in Topeka.

I'm Kevin O'Brien, a lifetime resident of Kansas. My wife, Stephanie, and I live outside of Cheney and have five children of whom we are very proud.
I was approached about a year ago to run for State Representative here in the 101st District. I see a real need for traditional, conservative values to be maintained and the views of the voters to be heard in Topeka.
I don't want to be a politician, but a representative for all voters in District 101. When elected, I'll strive to represent you with honor, integrity, and a listening ear. If there are ever issues involving state government that you need help addressing, let's work together to come up with a solution.
